The region produces numerous apple varieties, offering a broad product range. The positive attributes are inherent to all varieties due to local characteristics. However, natural differences in character and flavor exist between the varieties, resulting in a wide selection for both customers and consumers. Our company can provide the following apple types: Jonagold, Starking, Idared, Mutsu, Granny Smith, Gala, and Jonathan.
Additionally, we distinguish between two quality and usage levels:
One is juice apples, suitable for juice production.The other is high-quality apples intended for personal consumption, meant to reach the consum ‘s table in their original state.
WHY CHOOSE OUR PRODUCTS?
The apples we distribute originate from Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County, known as the stronghold of apple production in Hungary, contributing 60% of the country’s total yield. Within this region, the role of Tuzsér, a large village with 300 years of horticultural and apple-growing traditions, stands out. Tuzsér apples were exported to the United States as early as the beginning of the 20th century. This historical legacy is now preserved by a well-organized professional and economic community: the Tuzsér and Surrounding Area Producers’ Cooperative, which has over 100 farmer-producer members. The cooperative plays a central coordinating role in production, storage, and preparation for sale, providing professional, communication, and logistical support to its members. Thanks to the cooperative’s strict quality assurance system, products bearing the „Tuzsér apple” name meet the highest standards and reflect the region’s agricultural prestige. At the end of the 2010s, Tuzsér apples received the „Protected Designation of Origin” classification accredited by the Hungarian State, which, as a national trademark, guarantees the quality associated with the name.
Tuzsér village is a flagship of apple cultivation in Szabolcs County, but its example well illustrates the spirit and productivity of the entire region. Our company primarily distributes apple products from this village, but also from other equally successful locations within the county.
Naturally, the region’s advantageous natural conditions are crucial and indispensable for apple cultivation:
The proximity of the Tisza River, whose past floods have created fertile, humus-rich alluvial soil;
The valuable forest soils present in the area;
As well as the exceptionally favorable amounts of sunshine and rainfall.
Thanks to these factors, Tuzsér and Szabolcs apples are typically juicy, flavorful, with a rich and distinctive taste, are prone to reddening, and retain their quality longer than average.
These natural attributes are well complemented by the technologies employed in the region: producers and cooperatives favor eco-friendly, natural methods, utilizing the best of modern biological and agricultural knowledge to ensure healthy, environmentally conscious, and efficient production.
